 Serena Williams falls to 20-year-old Maya Joint in Wimbledon return after nearly four-year singles absence Serena Williams showed flashes of the power and precision that defined her Hall of Fame career in her return to professional singles tennis Tuesday, but ultimately fell short in a three-set opening-round loss at Wimbledon. The 44-year-old Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, was defeated 6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-3 by 20-year-old Australian Maya Joint in a match that lasted 2 hours and 22 minutes on Centre Court.  JAMB DEBUNKS INCREASE IN UTME FEES CLAIMS


 The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked claims that it has increased the registration fees for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), describing the report as false, misleading, and entirely unfounded.


In a statement by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board clarified that the approved UTME registration fees remain ₦5,700 for Direct Entry, ₦7,200 for UTME only, and ₦8,700 for UTME with Mock Examination.


The statement emphasized that these fees have remained unchanged since 2019.

JAMB urges the public to disregard the publication and rely solely on official information released through its verified platforms and advertisements.


The Board reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the protection of candidates’ interests at all times.
