Kelly Clarkson to end daytime talk show after seventh season

Singer Kelly Clarkson has announced that her daytime talk show will conclude after its seventh season. The news was shared by Clarkson on social media on Monday, with NBCUniversal confirming the decision the same day.

Clarkson reflected on her time hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show, saying, “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”

She explained that stepping away from the daily schedule will allow her to prioritize her children. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time … you never know where I might show up next,” Clarkson added.

NBCUniversal described the decision as a personal one by Clarkson and confirmed that production on Season 7 will continue as scheduled, with episodes airing through fall 2026. The network also noted that several special guest hosts will appear during the season.

The announcement follows the death of Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who passed away from cancer in August. The couple shares two children, River, born in 2014, and Remington, born in 2016. Clarkson and Blackstock married in 2013 and divorced in 2022.

Since its 2019 debut, The Kelly Clarkson Show has been a leading program in daytime television, earning 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four consecutive wins for outstanding daytime talk series and for outstanding talk show host. Tracie Wilson, NBCUniversal’s executive vice president of Syndication Studios, praised Clarkson and the production team, saying, “Kelly’s warmth, quick sense of humor, and connection with people created a show that made fans feel seen, heard, and a little bit better about their day. Together with producers, staff, and crew, they created a legacy to be proud of.”
