Actor Tom Noonan, known for his roles in Manhunter, The Last Action Hero, and Robocop 2, has died at the age of 74, friends of the actor confirmed. No official cause of death has been released.
Filmmaker Fred Dekker remembered Noonan for his iconic performance as Frankenstein in The Monster Squad, praising his work and the make-up artistry that brought the character to life. Dekker also recalled casting Noonan as Francis Dollarhyde in Michael Mann’s Manhunter, saying he was captivated by the actor’s talent from the start. Actress Karen Sillas, who worked with Noonan on the play and film What Happened Was…, also paid tribute, calling it a privilege to know him and wishing his legacy to continue. Noonan’s extensive career included notable appearances in Heat, Synecdoche, New York, The House of the Devil, Willie & Phil, Heaven’s Gate, 12 Monkeys, and Wonderstruck.
