 EFCC Arraigns One for  N700m Fraud in Lagos  The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, September 4, 2026, arraigned Osaretin Osagiede before Justice Olukayode Ogunjobi of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja,  over an alleged N700 million fraud. Osagiede is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on unauthorised access to computer material and receiving stolen property to the tune of N700 million.  Count one reads: “That you Osaretin Osagiede and Zacharia Lorshe (at large), between March, 2025 and January 2026, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, intentionally caused the Ravenpay user accounts' two-factor authentication (2FA) method to be bypassed, with the intent to secure unauthorised access to the bank's data and committed an offence contrary to Section 387 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.  MOB SETS ALLEGED BIKE SNATCHER ABLAZE IN MAKURDI

Tragedy struck on Sunday night in the Achusa area of Makurdi, Benue State, as a suspected motorcycle snatcher was allegedly burnt to death by an irate mob.


The incident occurred around Baptist Secondary School, Achusa, when the suspect was said to have been caught in the act of attempting to snatch a motorcycle.


Eyewitnesses told Benue Info-pedia that the suspect was apprehended by residents who quickly gathered at the scene. In the heat of the moment, the crowd reportedly descended on him before setting him ablaze.


As at the time of filing this report, the identity of the deceased had not been ascertained.


Police authorities in Benue State were yet to issue an official statement on the incident. However, security agencies have repeatedly warned against jungle justice, urging residents to hand over suspects to law enforcement for proper investigation and prosecution.


The latest incident has reignited concerns over rising cases of mob action in parts of the state.
