 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Mother of Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie reported missing in Arizona 

The mother of Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of NBC’s “TODAY” show, has been reported missing in Arizona, officials confirmed Sunday. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen Saturday night at her home outside Tucson, and her family reported her missing around noon on Sunday, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.

Sheriff Nanos said certain aspects of the home scene raised “grave concern,” though he did not provide details. Homicide detectives were called to the scene, a step not typically part of a missing persons investigation, and authorities have not ruled out foul play. Nancy Guthrie is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen by her family between 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Officials noted she is not in good physical health, though her family reported no cognitive issues. Search efforts include drones, an airplane, a helicopter, volunteers, and search-and-rescue dogs provided by Customs and Border Protection. The Guthrie family confirmed the case and said they are working closely with local law enforcement, asking anyone with information to come forward. Savannah Guthrie has often spoken about her close bond with her mother, praising her selflessness and support in past tributes.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
