 LASISMA SERVES NOTICES, MARKS BUILDINGS UNDER TENSION RIGHT-OF-WAY IN ALAGBADO/OKE-ODO  The Lagos State Informal Space Management Authority (LASISMA) Officials, last week Tuesday, on the directives of the Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Olumide Oluyinka, staged a strategic enforcement and sensitisation exercise at Alagbado/Oke-Odo axis of Lagos State to address physical planning infractions along the AIT road corridor.   Representing the General Manager, TPL Daisi Oso, TPL Emmanuel Seyi Ogunyemi and his team served contravention notices on occupants within the corridor and marked buildings encroaching on the high-tension right-of-way.   During the exercise, affected property owners were directed to recess their buildings away from the high-tension corridor right of way, in line with safety and planning regulations.  Nigerian Army Recovers Locally Fabricated IEDs in Abia Forest During Clearance Operation


Troops of the Nigerian Army's 14 Brigade, Ohafia, have recovered two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during a clearance patrol in Umuchinma Forest, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State.


The discovery occurred on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., along the Umuchinma pipeline route leading into the forest. According to a statement from the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 14 Brigade, Captain Mazinho Attah, the IEDs were locally fabricated using 5kg gas cylinders packed with nails, water-gel explosives, two detonators, and electrical cables.


The operation was part of intensified security efforts to counter criminal activities linked to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its affiliated groups, including preparatory actions for the Brigade’s ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY offensive.


Further searches in the area led to the recovery of four empty cartridge cases and two bags containing additional nails. Troops also dismantled a suspected camp used by criminal elements operating in the forest.


The breakthrough followed credible intelligence from a suspect currently under investigation, who confessed to expertise in explosives fabrication.


Brigade Commander, Brigadier General A.M. Dikko, commended the troops for their professionalism, resilience, and determination in executing the mission. "Further exploitation of the Umuchinma Forest is ongoing," the statement added.
