Trump threatens Iran with major strikes and warns of potential control of oil infrastructure as regional conflict escalates  President Donald Trump said Thursday that the United States would strike Iran “VERY HARD TONIGHT,” escalating already heightened tensions as both sides continue exchanging attacks across the region. In a social media post, Trump also threatened to “assume total control” of Iran’s oil and gas infrastructure, including the key Kharg Island export terminal, describing potential action “in the not too distant future.” The warning came as U.S. and Iranian forces traded fire for a second straight day, marking the third major escalation in less than a week following earlier clashes involving Iran, Israel, and U.S. forces stationed across multiple countries. Trump warns of possible US casualties in ‘massive ongoing operation’ against Iran

President Donald Trump announced early Saturday that the U.S. military has launched “major combat operations” in Iran, urging the Iranian people to seize the moment for regime change. Speaking in a video posted on Truth Social, Trump described the Iranian government as a “vicious group of very hard, terrible people” and said the U.S. objective is to defend Americans by eliminating imminent threats posed by the regime.
Trump called the operation “massive” and warned that it could result in American casualties. He said the campaign targets Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, intelligence networks, government facilities, and defense sites, and stressed that the U.S. action is intended to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He urged Iranians to take control of their government once the operation concludes, describing the effort as a “noble mission” and a rare opportunity for citizens to shape their future. Meanwhile, Democratic lawmakers have begun pressing for briefings on the situation, with Rep. Jared Moskowitz requesting updates from the State Department and Department of War, and Sen. Ruben Gallego warning against putting young Americans at risk in what he called a war that has not been fully explained.
