 CSO/MEDIA REVIEW: HEALTH MINISTER PATE SCORES FG HIGH  ON HEALTH SECTOR REFORMS The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, says civil society organisations play a critical role in strengthening Nigeria’s health system by providing feedback, identifying gaps and helping government translate policies into programmes that improve lives. The CSO/Media-Led Mid-Year Review of Nigeria’s Health Sector Reforms and Policy Dialogue on Monday, Prof. Pate stressed the need for sustained engagement between government, civil society and other stakeholders to achieve better health outcomes. The Minister said the Federal Government, under President Bola Tinubu, recognises that rebuilding the health system after years of underinvestment will take time. UK: A ZIMBABWEAN MAN HAS BEEN BANNED FROM PARTS OF AMESBURY AFTER A COURT FOUND HIM GUILTY OF REPEATED BEGGING.(PHOTO).

A Zimbabwean man has been banned from parts of Amesbury after a court found him guilty of repeated begging.


Tatenda Mushandu, 40, received a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 10 February. The court convicted him on four counts of persistent begging.


According to police, his conduct caused harassment, alarm and distress to members of the public, including shoppers and staff in local businesses. Authorities said the order restricts him from begging in specified areas of the town for three years.


The court did not disclose additional details about the circumstances of the offences in the public summary. Further information on compliance with the order was not immediately available.


Police have not indicated whether any additional charges are pending.
