 Chris Brown Avoids Jail After London Nightclub Attack, Gets 8-Month Suspended Sentence Chris Brown will not be going to prison for now after a London court sentenced him over a nightclub attack that left music producer Abraham Diaw injured. The American singer, 37, was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, October 26, receiving eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months. His co-defendant, rapper HoodyBaby, whose real name is Omololu Akinlolu, 40, received a four-month suspended sentence, also for 12 months. Both were ordered to pay £1,500 in costs. The case dates back to February 19, 2023 at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, where Brown admitted attacking Diaw with a tequila bottle. CCTV footage showed the producer being struck twice on the head, hit on the shoulder, chased, pushed to the floor and kicked while down. U.S surfer Kurt Van Dyke found dead in Costa Rica, authorities report


U.S. surfer Kurt Van Dyke was found murdered Saturday in Costa Rica, local authorities reported. Police responded around 10:50 a.m. to a call about an armed break-in at an apartment in Cahuita, Limon, a coastal province roughly 100 miles east of San Jose. Van Dyke, 66, was discovered under a bed with a sheet over his face, having been strangled and stabbed multiple times.

A woman present during the attack survived and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said two suspects are believed to have carried out the break-in and stolen Van Dyke’s Hyundai Elantra as they fled. No arrests have been made, and police are reviewing CCTV footage to aid the investigation. Van Dyke, originally from Santa Cruz, California, had been a longtime resident of Costa Rica and was recognized as a pioneer in Northern California surfing. He was well known in the local surfing community, though further details about the circumstances of his death have not yet been released.
