 Abia Governor Otti Approves First Phase of Medical Bills for Veteran Actress Ngozi Nwosu Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti has approved payment for the first phase of medical bills for Abia-born Nollywood veteran Ngozi Nwosu as she continues to battle health challenges. The intervention was announced by Dr. Justice Okey Martins (popularly known as JMartins), Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment to the Governor. Martins expressed gratitude to Otti for the timely support and appealed to Nigerians to continue assisting the actress. According to Martins, the Governor’s approval covers only the initial portion of Nwosu’s medical expenses. Further financial assistance remains necessary to ensure she receives the full care required.  1 DEAD, PROPERTIES DESTROYED IN OGBADIBO CLASH BETWEEN ODOBA & EPAIGBO - EYEWITNESSES  


Tensions escalated into violence yesterday between the Odoba and Epaigbo communities in Ogbadibo Local Government Area, leaving one person dead and several properties destroyed.


Residents told reporters that the crisis began when an Odoba vigilante allegedly shot and killed a youth from Epaigbo over a ₦9,000 debt. The fatal shooting reportedly ignited anger among Epaigbo youths, who retaliated against members of the Odoba community.


Eyewitnesses said the confrontation quickly spiraled into widespread clashes. “Buildings were set on fire, and people ran for their lives,” one local resident recounted, requesting anonymity. Several others sustained injuries as chaos spread through the communities.


Community leaders have expressed grave concern over the violence and are appealing for calm. “We urge our youths to exercise restraint and allow security agencies to handle the situation,” said a traditional ruler from Ogbadibo.


Authorities have been called upon to investigate the incident thoroughly and hold those responsible accountable. Security agencies are expected to intervene to restore peace and prevent further escalation.


The incident underscores ongoing tensions in the area and highlights the urgent need for dialogue and conflict resolution to prevent similar outbreaks of violence in the future.
