 EFCC Arraigns One for  N700m Fraud in Lagos  The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, September 4, 2026, arraigned Osaretin Osagiede before Justice Olukayode Ogunjobi of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja,  over an alleged N700 million fraud. Osagiede is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on unauthorised access to computer material and receiving stolen property to the tune of N700 million.  Count one reads: “That you Osaretin Osagiede and Zacharia Lorshe (at large), between March, 2025 and January 2026, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, intentionally caused the Ravenpay user accounts' two-factor authentication (2FA) method to be bypassed, with the intent to secure unauthorised access to the bank's data and committed an offence contrary to Section 387 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.  1 DEAD, PROPERTIES DESTROYED IN OGBADIBO CLASH BETWEEN ODOBA & EPAIGBO - EYEWITNESSES  


Tensions escalated into violence yesterday between the Odoba and Epaigbo communities in Ogbadibo Local Government Area, leaving one person dead and several properties destroyed.


Residents told reporters that the crisis began when an Odoba vigilante allegedly shot and killed a youth from Epaigbo over a ₦9,000 debt. The fatal shooting reportedly ignited anger among Epaigbo youths, who retaliated against members of the Odoba community.


Eyewitnesses said the confrontation quickly spiraled into widespread clashes. “Buildings were set on fire, and people ran for their lives,” one local resident recounted, requesting anonymity. Several others sustained injuries as chaos spread through the communities.


Community leaders have expressed grave concern over the violence and are appealing for calm. “We urge our youths to exercise restraint and allow security agencies to handle the situation,” said a traditional ruler from Ogbadibo.


Authorities have been called upon to investigate the incident thoroughly and hold those responsible accountable. Security agencies are expected to intervene to restore peace and prevent further escalation.


The incident underscores ongoing tensions in the area and highlights the urgent need for dialogue and conflict resolution to prevent similar outbreaks of violence in the future.
