GOVERNMENT OF RIVERS STATE   PRESS STATEMENT  MY DECISION TO WITHDRAW FROM THE RIVERS  STATE  GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARIES  Fellow Rivers People, After deep reflection and extensive consultations with my family, friends, and associates, I have taken the difficult but necessary decision to withdraw from the APC gubernatorial primaries. I do so with a full heart and with a firm commitment to support whoever emerges as the candidate of our great party. Leadership is ultimately about sacrifice. There comes a time when personal ambition must yield to the greater good of the people. Rivers State is bigger than any individual, and at this critical moment, the peace, stability, and unity of our dear state must take precedence over every personal interest. To my supporters who stood firmly with me throughout this journey who gave their time, resources, prayers, and unwavering hope, I offer my deepest gratitude.  86-Year-Old Martial Arts Legend Chuck Norris Reportedly Admitted to Hospital

Chuck Norris, the legendary martial artist and actor, has reportedly been admitted to a hospital in Hawaii following a medical emergency.

TMZ reported the news on Thursday, March 19, noting that the 86-year-old star was in “good spirits” amid the health scare. Us Weekly has reached out for comment.

Just weeks ago, Norris celebrated his 86th birthday with his signature energy and positivity. On March 10, he posted on Instagram, “I don’t age. I level up.

"I’m 86 today!” alongside footage of himself boxing outdoors. He added, “Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young. I’m grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love.”

He thanked his fans for their support over the years, writing, “Your support through the years has meant more to me than you’ll ever know.”

Fitness and discipline have long been central to Norris’s lifestyle. In a November 2025 gym selfie, he captioned, “Progress isn’t measured by perfection, but by the courage to keep going.

"I’m still setting goals, pushing forward and choosing discipline over comfort. No matter your age, keep striving for the best version of yourself.”

Norris first rose to prominence as a martial artist and action star, debuting in 1969’s The Wrecking Crew and later co-starring with Bruce Lee in 1972’s The Way of the Dragon.

Reflecting on their time together, Norris told Black Belt Magazine, “Lee was a formidable opponent with a chiseled physique and technique.

"I totally enjoyed sparring and just spending time with him. He was as charismatic and friendly in the ring and at home as he was on film. His confidence and wit were dazzling, and sometimes even debilitating to others.”

He also praised Lee’s approach to martial arts, saying, “He never believed in only one style or that one was superior.

"He believed that everything had strengths and weaknesses and that we should find the strengths in each method.”

Norris went on to star in the popular television series Walker, Texas Ranger from 1993 to 2001, cementing his status as an action icon.
