That’s Not Fair - Kim Kardashian Says Prisoners Who Fought L.A. Wildfires Were Paid 'Just a Few Dollars,' and She Wants to Change That A renewed push for prison labor reform is gaining attention, with Kim Kardashian stepping in to support new legislation aimed at changing how incarcerated workers are paid. The bill, reintroduced on March 19 by Cory Booker, seeks to ensure that people working while incarcerated receive at least the federal minimum wage. It also proposes limits on deductions for fees, fines, and living costs within correctional facilities, through amendments to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Kardashian, who has increasingly focused on criminal justice reform, explained that her support is rooted in what she witnessed during the Los Angeles wildfires.  “I personally watched incarcerated people who risked their lives battling the massive wildfires,” she said, pointing out that many were paid only a few dollars a day despite doing the same high-risk work as profess...

A DAYCARE WORKER LAID ON TOP OF A ONE YEAR OLD AND SCROLLED ON HER PHONE... UNTIL THE CHILD PASSED AWAY FROM COMPRESSION ASPHYXIA. THE FAMILY HAS FILED A LAWSUIT. (PHOTO).

A daycare worker laid on top of a one year old and scrolled on her phone... until the child passed away from compression asphyxia. The family has filed a lawsuit.

This shocking incident occurred on May 19th, 2025, at the Creative Beginnings Daycare of Lenoir, North Carolina.

In a heartbreaking twist, it was the tiny girl's first day at daycare.

Alexandra Coffey is facing charges of involuntarily manslaughter in connection to the death of 16-month-old Maddy Mitchell.

Alexandra is currently out on bond in that criminal case. However, the family of little Maddy officially filed a wrongful death suit against Alexandra on March 16th, 2026.

In the wrongful death suit, attorneys for the family say there is "no guesswork" because the "entire incident was captured on security video".

According to the attorneys, Alexandra put Maddy face down on a sleeping mat and callously covered her head with a blanket. They say that Alexandra then laid her entire upper body over the top of Maddy's upper torso and neck.

The video reveals that after Alexandra laid on Maddy, you can see the poor baby's legs kick for several minutes before the child becomes completely still.

After Maddy quit kicking, Alexandra continued to lay on the 16-month-old for an extended period of time while she scrolled through her cellphone.

Alexandra finally got off of Maddy and left her laying under the blanket without ever checking on her.

It would be three more hours before Alexandra would eventually check on Maddy, who was sadly already noticeably stiff from rigor mortis by that time.

The North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Maddy's death was a homicide.

Alexandra Coffey's attorney in her criminal case says that "Alexandra loves children" and "maintains her innocence".

There is no information on when Alexandra's criminal or civil case will be tried at this point but we will update and we hope Maddy and her family receive the Justice they so rightly deserve.
