PRESS RELEASE May 8, 2026 CERTIFIED TRUE COPY OF SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT IN CIRCULATION NOT OFFICIALLY RELEASED, BUT CONTENTS FURTHER AFFIRM ABDULRAHMAN AND ANYANWU’S LEADERSHIP OF THE PDP 1. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has become aware of the circulation of a purported Certified True Copy (CTC) of the recent Supreme Court judgment relating to matters concerning the party. 2. The PDP wishes to categorically state that the document currently in circulation was not officially released by the Supreme Court. A careful examination of the purported CTC reveals that it falls short of the established requirements for proper certification of official court documents. The pages were neither duly certified, stamped, nor signed by any authorized court officer in accordance with legally recognized procedures. 3.  ‎A former senator representing Anambra North, Emmanuel Anosike, has emerged as Chairman of the Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress.

‎

‎Anosike, who also chairs the Anambra Imo River Basin Development Commission, was elected through a consensus arrangement at the party’s state congress held at its headquarters in Awka on Tuesday.

‎

‎Announcing the outcome, the Chairman of the State Congress Committee and Returning Officer, Williams Kayoda, declared the consensus list of State Executive Committee members, which he said was endorsed by about 2,100 delegates through voice affirmation.

‎

‎Kayoda named Chief Chidi Orji as Vice Chairman and Obi Okpala as Secretary, among other executive members, stating that the process complied with Articles 14 and 20 of the party’s constitution, which provide for consensus in the election of officers.
