 Russia Backs African Demands for Colonial Reparations  Russia has thrown its support behind African and Caribbean nations seeking compensation from former colonial powers.  Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Western countries should be held accountable for centuries of colonial exploitation and slavery.  “We are ready to actively support their endeavors to demand reparations and compensation from their former colonial powers.”  Medvedev argued that former colonial states have both the financial capacity and moral responsibility to compensate for the "colossal damage" caused by colonialism, RT reported He also called for colonialism to be officially recognized as a crime against humanity under international law. The remarks come as global momentum grows for reparations, following a UN resolution recognizing the transatlantic slave trade as “the gravest crime against humanity.”

A SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER HAS DIED AFTER REPORTEDLY JUMPING FROM THE REAR OF A MOVING POLICE VEHICLE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ESCAPE CUSTODY IN THE SAVANNAH REGION, GHANA.(PHOTO).


 A suspected armed robber has d!ed after reportedly jumping from the rear of a moving police vehicle while attempting to escape custody in the Savannah Region, Ghana.


The deceased, 30-year-old Mumin Kresi, had been arrested on March 23, 2026, at Daboya through an intelligence-led operation after being lured from his hideout.


The suspect is said to have admitted during interrogation to his involvement in robbery and disclosed that one of the pistols used in the operation had been hidden at his residence at Yerezori and a second weapon, together with stolen money and mobile phones, was in the possession of an accomplice identified only as Berra.


“On the same date, at about 3:40 a.m., the suspect was being escorted by police officers to his residence at Yerezori to retrieve the weapon,” a police source said on Sunday, March 29.


“While being transported in the rear of the service vehicle with two officers, the suspect suddenly jumped from the moving vehicle, fell to the ground, and became unconscious.”


Kresi was rushed to St. Ann’s Hospital in Damongo, where he was pronounced d3ad on arrival. 


His body has since been deposited at the hospital morgue pending preservation and autopsy.


Following the incident, a team from the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate (RPID) attempted to retrieve the weapon from Kresi’s residence but were unsuccessful. 


Police were informed by the deceased’s wife, Ajarah Kadija, that Berra, believed to be an accomplice, visited the home the previous night and removed an unknown item.


Authorities are continuing investigations into the robbery and the missing items, including the second weapon.
