 LASISMA SERVES NOTICES, MARKS BUILDINGS UNDER TENSION RIGHT-OF-WAY IN ALAGBADO/OKE-ODO  The Lagos State Informal Space Management Authority (LASISMA) Officials, last week Tuesday, on the directives of the Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Olumide Oluyinka, staged a strategic enforcement and sensitisation exercise at Alagbado/Oke-Odo axis of Lagos State to address physical planning infractions along the AIT road corridor.   Representing the General Manager, TPL Daisi Oso, TPL Emmanuel Seyi Ogunyemi and his team served contravention notices on occupants within the corridor and marked buildings encroaching on the high-tension right-of-way.   During the exercise, affected property owners were directed to recess their buildings away from the high-tension corridor right of way, in line with safety and planning regulations. AN AWAITING TRIAL PRISONER HAS ESCAPED FROM THABAZIMBI HOSPITAL, SOUTH AFRICA. (PHOTO).

 An awaiting trial prisoner has escaped from Thabazimbi Hospital


He was under police guard. He still managed to walk out.


Thabazimbi police have launched a manhunt for 30-year-old Sibongeseni Khumalo. The escape happened on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at about 18h00.


Khumalo was in custody for business robbery. Police shot and arrested him, then admitted him to hospital under guard. He reportedly asked to use the bathroom and never returned.


The claim that he simply went to the bathroom and escaped raises serious questions. How does a guarded suspect vanish inside a hospital? That gap needs clear answers. Police say the circumstances are under internal investigation.
