AN INDIANA MAN ATTEMPTING TO STEAL A SEMI OF BUD LIGHT LED DEPUTIES ON DANGEROUS CHASE THAT LEFT A PATROL UNIT TOTALED AND ONE OFFICER RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE.(PHOTOS).

An Indiana man attempting to steal a semi of Bud Light led deputies on dangerous chase that left a patrol unit totaled and one officer running for his life.

At 3 p.m. on Friday, March 27th, a heavily intoxicated Randall Baker noticed an unattended Bud Light semi at a liquor store on North Governor Street in Evansville,  Indiana.

Randall presumably thought this was a golden opportunity and seized the initiative, hopping in and taking off. The theft was called in, and a short time later, Randall was spotted traveling on Diamond Avenue.

Deputies with Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop and were completely ignored by Randall.

A police pursuit ensued that would come to a dramatic end on State Route 165 in Posey County. As Randall neared High School Road, a deputy exited his patrol vehicle and attempted to deploy stop sticks.

Randall spotted the deputy and continuing in his series of bad decisions, swerved the semi in an attempt to run the deputy over. Thankfully, the deputy was able to jump out of the way, but Randall did strike the patrol vehicle, causing significant damage.

However, the collision caused Randall to lose control of the semi and crash into a roadside field.

Randall then refused to comply with deputies commands to exit the vehicle.

Deputies would ultimately utilize pepperball rounds to take Randall into custody.

Randall Baker was taken to Deaconess Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained.

Authorities report Randall's blood alcohol content was .103.

Randall Baker is facing a list of serious charges, including  attempted m*rder, criminal recklessness, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, recklessness operation of a tractor trailer and resisting law enforcement.
