NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. We have been fully participating in all INEC activities without let or hindrance. NDC also fielded candidates, and fully pa...

APGA EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR THE SENATE STANCE ON ABARIBE'S DEFECTION, GOES INTO STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH ANOTHER POLITICAL PARTY

Members of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA state executive committee on Monday paid a visit to a former Lawmaker, Honourable Obinna Ichita over what they called Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe’s disregard for the party and his twisting of what led to his current travails at the Senate.

Led by the state chairman of the party, Ambassador Sunday Onukwubiri, the APGA SEC lamented that despite Senator Abaribe getting the party’s 2023 senatorial ticket on a platter for free, he never contributed towards the advancement of the party which led to his suspension.

Onukwubiri said the party stands with the Senate for the constitution to be obeyed to be obeyed to the later.

Hon. Ichita after the meeting disclosed that the party in Abia State was working towards forming a strategic alliance with another political party in the state ahead of the forthcoming elections. He said details of the alliance would be made public at the right time.

Ichita apologized to the APGA SEC members for his wrong assessment, saying he had hoped that the Senator would imbibe the APGA spirit that would have helped in the transformation of Abia South senatorial zone.

The former Lawmaker who represented Aba South state constituency said contrary to the impression created by Senator Abaribe that he was sacked by APGA, he said the party never sacked Abaribe, rather he voluntarily resigned from the party.

The Senate had on Thursday last week threatened that the Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, Abaribe, could lose his seat if he did not reconsider his resignation from APGA.
