Kenyan lawyers boycott courts over alleged judicial corruption Kenyan lawyers staged a nationwide boycott of court proceedings on Wednesday to protest alleged judicial corruption and chronic delays. Cases in the East African nation take an average of two years to conclude, according to official records, with lawyers blaming graft and systemic inefficiencies. "The court boycott is going on in courts across the country, with many lawyers heeding the call," Charles Kanjama, the president of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), told reporters. However, the judiciary said that accountability mechanisms already exist through the Judicial Service Commission and the Office of the Judiciary Ombudsman, where complaints against judges and judicial officers can be lodged and investigated, according to a statement released prior to the boycott.  Chappell Roan criticized, mocked after incident with Jude Law's child

Chappell Roan has come under fire online after being accused of upsetting Jude Law’s daughter during a recent encounter in São Paulo.

According to soccer player Jorginho, who is the girl’s stepfather, Roan’s security guard confronted his wife Catherine Harding and her 11-year-old daughter, allegedly accusing the child of harassment.

Jorginho explained that his stepdaughter, Ada Law, had simply smiled at the singer while passing her table at breakfast, but was later reduced to tears when the guard approached aggressively.

Jorginho criticized the incident in lengthy Instagram posts, insisting that his daughter’s actions were innocent admiration rather than harassment.

He described the guard’s behavior as unnecessarily harsh, claiming he even threatened to file a complaint with the hotel.

Harding, also known as singer Cat Cavelli, reposted her husband’s statements and shared photos of Ada at the hotel, emphasizing how shaken the child was by the confrontation.

Jorginho concluded his remarks by tagging Roan’s account and declaring that artists owe their success to fans, urging reflection on how they treat admirers.

The backlash against Roan quickly spread across social media, with critics mocking her and her security team.

Rio de Janeiro’s mayor announced that she would not be allowed to perform at one of the city’s major music events, further escalating the controversy.

Memes comparing Roan’s security guard to fictional authoritarian figures like Miss Trunchbull from Matilda and Homelander from The Boys circulated widely, underscoring the public’s disapproval of the incident.
