 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. The Federal High Court Sitting In Abuja Has Granted Final Forfeiture Of Over 3 Billion Naira And Three Properties Linked To One Salihu Nuhu Jamari While Serving As The Managing Director Of, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Nnpc’S Gas And Power Investment Company Limited.

                         Justice Joyce Abdulmalik Gave The Order In Abuja Following A Motion On Notice Filed By The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, Efcc On March 17, 2026.

 

The Court Had On February 25, 2026, Granted An Interim Forfeiture Order, Directing That The Publication Of The Same Be Made In A National Newspaper For Any Interested Party To Show Cause Why The Said Exhibits Should Not Be Finally Forfeited To The Federal Government.


The Said Money Forms Part Of A Case Of Conspiracy, Kickbacks, Bribery And Money Laundering, Involving The Staff And Contractors Of The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Wherein The Name Of One Salihu Nuhu Jamari Featured Prominently Through A Petition Dated April 28, 2025.

Justice Abdulmalik, After Considering The Application, Held That It Had Merit And Ordered The Final Forfeiture Of The Assets To The Federal Government Of Nigeria.
