A “Deadliest Catch” crew member is sharing memories of Todd Meadows, who tragically died at sea earlier this year. Trey John Green III, Meadows’ bunkmate, said the 25-year-old’s death was captured on camera during filming. Meadows fell overboard on Feb. 25 while aboard the Aleutian Lady, approximately 170 miles north of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, the U.S. Coast Guard reported. Despite the crew’s efforts to resuscitate him after recovering him about 10 minutes later, Meadows was pronounced dead.
Green described Meadows as “an amazing human,” and Aleutian Lady Capt. Rick Shelford called it the “most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady on the Bering Sea.” Meadows, who had joined the show in May 2025, quickly became a valued member of the crew, known for his love of his family and dedication to crabbing. Discovery Channel released a statement calling his death “a devastating loss.” An online fundraiser has raised roughly $42,000 to support Meadows’ three sons, his family, and funeral costs. The incident comes amid other tragedies in the series’ history, including the deaths of cast members from accidents and natural causes.
