ED SHEERAN GIVES UPDATE ON WIFE CHERRY SEABORN'S HEALTH AFTER OPERATION TO REMOVE CANCEROUS TUMOR. (PHOTO).

Ed Sheeran gives update on wife Cherry Seaborn's health after operation to remove cancerous tumor

Ed Sheeran recently reflected on one of the most difficult moments of his life: learning that his wife, Cherry Seaborn, had cancer while pregnant with their second child.

Speaking on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, he recalled how Cherry phoned him in February 2022 to share the news.

Doctors discovered a tumor when she was six months pregnant with their daughter Jupiter, but surgery had to wait until after the birth.

Sheeran described the experience as terrifying, especially as he was simultaneously coping with the deaths of close friend Jamal Edwards and cricket legend Shane Warne, while also preparing for a major copyright trial.

Thankfully, Seaborn underwent surgery after giving birth and has since recovered. Sheeran explained that the ordeal shifted his perspective, making the lawsuit he had long dreaded feel insignificant compared to the real-life challenges he was facing.

In his Disney+ documentary The Sum of It All, Seaborn herself shared how the diagnosis forced her to reflect on mortality and legacy, prompting her to step into the spotlight despite her usual preference for privacy.

Sheeran admitted the period was “horrible,” but songwriting became his outlet, with him penning several tracks in a single day to process the fear and uncertainty.

The singer has also spoken openly about the mental health struggles that accompanied this time.

In a Rolling Stone interview, he revealed that the stress and grief left him feeling powerless and at times overwhelmed by despair.

He admitted to experiencing thoughts of not wanting to live, feelings he described as shameful and selfish given his role as a father.

Despite the darkness, Sheeran emphasized that humor, creativity, and his family helped him endure.

Today, with Cherry healthy and their daughters thriving, he continues to channel those experiences into his music, turning pain into art and resilience.
