  North Korea slams FBI over allegations of being behind Binance hack North Korea has rejected FBI allegations linking it to a reported $6 billion theft from cryptocurrency exchange Binance, with Kim Yo Jong describing the accusation as a "grave political provocation". In a statement carried by the state-run Korean Central News Agency on Tuesday, November 3, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un dismissed the allegation as "absurd rhetoric and nothing new". She referred to previous US accusations connecting North Korea to the major attack on cryptocurrency platform Bybit last year. "It is a grave political provocation against the DPRK that the US misleads the international public opinion as if all the cyber crimes in different parts of the world are our deeds," she said, using the abbreviation for North Korea's official name.  El-Rufai’s Mother, Hajiya Umma, Passes Away


According to Daily Trust, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, the mother of Nasir El-Rufai, has passed away.


The exact circumstances surrounding her death were not fully disclosed at the time of reporting, but it was said to have occurred on Friday afternoon. 


Her grandson, Bello El-Rufai, confirmed the news in a statement, expressing the family’s grief and praying for her soul.


He described her as the biological mother of Nasir El-Rufai and appreciated the life she lived, while also asking the public to remember the family in prayers.


Her passing comes amid ongoing legal issues involving Nasir El-Rufai, who is currently in custody. 


The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has charged him with multiple offences, including alleged misappropriation of public funds and money laundering.


He has denied all allegations, and a Federal High Court in Kaduna has scheduled a hearing on his bail application for March 31.
