 The vest did the job - Donald Trump confirms agent injured in D.C. shooting scare Donald Trump has confirmed that a Secret Service agent was injured during a shooting scare at a major press event in Washington, D.C. Speaking after the incident, Trump said the officer was hit at close range but avoided serious harm thanks to protective gear.  “One officer was shot but saved by the fact that he was wearing a very good bulletproof vest,” he said, adding that the agent is now recovering and in good spirits. The situation unfolded during the White House Correspondents' Dinner, where attendees were settling in for the evening when gunfire was heard. Witnesses described a sudden shift from calm to panic, with people quickly moving for cover under tables as security responded. Operatives Of The Federal Road Safety Corps (Frsc), Zaria Unit Command Have Recovered And Safely Returned The Sum Of ₦3,727,500 In Cash Alongside Other Valuables Worth About ₦500,000 From The Scene Of A Fatal Road Crash.


In A Statement By The Acting Corps Public Education Officer, Felicia Kalu, This Reaffirms The Corps’ Enduring Reputation For Honesty And Public Trust.


The Zaria Unit Commander, Had Formally Handed Over The Recovered Money To The Victims In The Presence Of Their Relatives And Witnesses, The Gesture Which Is Said To Reflect The Ethical Foundation Upon Which The Frsc Operates And Its Deep Commitment To Protecting Both Lives And Property On Nigerian Roads.


The Tragic Crash Occurred On Sunday, 15 March 2026, Along The Zaria–Funtua Highway Near Zaria Academy, Claimed One Life At The Scene, While Eight Others Sustained Varying Degrees Of Injuries.
