AIYEDATIWA SWEARS IN NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES, CHARGES THEM ON EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has sworn in newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the Ondo State Civil Service, urging them to uphold excellence and strengthen service delivery across Ministries, Departments and Agencies. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Friday at the International Centre for Culture and Events (The Dome) in Akure.

Speaking at the event, the governor described the appointments as part of ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the state bureaucracy for improved efficiency and performance. He noted that the public service remains the institutional backbone for the implementation of government policies and programmes, stressing that while governments change, the civil service provides continuity.

Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the newly appointed officials for their dedication, noting that several of them had previously served in acting capacities without commensurate remuneration. He said their elevation represents government’s recognition of their hard work and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by raising the standard of service delivery in line with the administration’s “OUR EASE” development agenda.

The governor also highlighted efforts by his administration to strengthen the public service, including regular staff promotions, the recruitment of over 4,000 personnel across key sectors and sustained payment of workers’ salaries and allowances. He added that the government is making progress in clearing inherited gratuity liabilities and remains committed to improving welfare and capacity building for workers.

In his remarks, the Ondo State Head of Service, Bayo Philip, charged the new Permanent Secretaries to demonstrate diligence, loyalty and professionalism in their new roles, while speaking on behalf of the appointees, Steven Rotimi Aworere expressed appreciation to the governor, describing the appointments as a call to greater responsibility in advancing effective governance in the state.
