 How Bauchi Accountant-General Transferred State Funds to Private Company - Witness   Trial of the Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Sirajo Muhammed Jaja continued on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Obiora Egwuatu with a witness revealing how Jaja diverted state funds to a private company. Jaja is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC ,  alongside Aliyu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammed Hafiz, Ari Manga and Muhammed Aminu Bose, for alleged corruption. The defendants are being prosecuted by the EFCC on an amended five-count charge of money laundering, diversion of public funds, and criminal misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1,635,270,350.9 (One Billion, Six Hundred and Thirty-five Million, Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira, Nine Kobo).  GOV. ALIA APPOINTS FIVE-MEMBER BOARD FOR BENUE TELEVISION 


The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has approved the appointment of members to the Board of the Benue Television Corporation (BTC).


In a statement issued by his Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Chief Solomon Iorpev, the governor said the appointments take immediate effect.


Rev. Dr. Patrick Alumunku, OON, from Ushongo Local Government Area, will serve as Chairman of the Board. A media professional with a doctorate in Mass Communications, he has 12 years of experience with Vatican Radio and 21 years as Director of Communications at the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja. He currently serves as Executive Director of Catholic Television of Nigeria.


Dr. Thaddeus Hanmakyugh from Kwande LGA was appointed Secretary. He holds a doctorate in Film Production and Media Arts from the University of Abuja and previously served at the National Film Institute, Jos, where he retired.


Other members include Mrs. Jennifer Ejembi from Otukpo LGA, a former Executive Director of the Nigerian Television Authority, Ibadan; Dr. Barnabas Gbam from Logo LGA, former Rector of the NTA College, Jos; and Engr. Sunday Iji from Oju LGA, former Director of Engineering Services at Radio Benue, Makurdi.


Governor Alia charged the new board to leverage their professional experience to strengthen broadcasting standards in the state and promote Benue’s cultural heritage through quality programming.
