IGP DISU DECORATES AIG JIMOH MOSHOOD;  TASKS OFFICERS TO LEAD WITH POLICING EXPERTISE AND INTEGRITY

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has decorated Jimoh Moshood Olorundare following his elevation to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, marking a new chapter in his policing career.

The event, held at the IGP's office, Louis Edet house Abuja, underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s continued push for experienced leadership in critical commands across the country.

Now deployed as AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Moshood will oversee policing operations in Lagos and Ogun States, two economically strategic states with complex security demands.

IGP Disu congratulated the newly promoted AIG, describing his elevation as well-deserved, and charged him to deploy his wealth of experience, discipline, and professionalism in tackling security challenges within the zone. IGP Disu also enjoined officers to lead with policing expertise and integrity.

AIG Moshood’s appointment comes on the heels of a notable tenure as Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, where he earned recognition for proactive and intelligence-driven policing.

During his time as CP Lagos State, Moshood strengthened crime prevention strategies through improved community policing, enhanced rapid response mechanisms, and targeted operations against violent crimes. His leadership saw increased visibility of police personnel, coordinated crackdowns on criminal networks, and strategic engagement with stakeholders to boost public confidence.
