South Korean police seek arrest warrant for Hybe chairman Bang Si-Hyuk over alleged $100 million investor fraud scheme    South Korean police are seeking an arrest warrant for Bang Si-Hyuk, the billionaire music executive behind K-pop powerhouse Hybe and BTS, as part of an expanding investigation into allegations that he improperly benefited from an investor scheme involving more than $100 million. Authorities said they have asked prosecutors to pursue a court warrant for Bang’s arrest as they continue probing claims that he misled investors in 2019.  Iran says it will skip World Cup in United States due to US attacks, sports minister says

With the World Cup just three months away, Iranian officials announced that their national team will not participate in the tournament.

Iran’s sports minister, Ahmad Donyamali, said the team cannot compete because of U.S. attacks. He told Iranian state television, “Due to the wicked acts they have done against Iran – they have imposed two wars on us over just eight or nine months and have killed and martyred thousands of our people – definitely it’s not possible for us to take part in the World Cup.” Earlier, Mehdi Taj, head of Iran’s Football Federation, also questioned whether the team would attend.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino spoke with President Donald Trump earlier this week and confirmed that the Iranian team is welcome to compete. Iran has been drawn into Group G and is scheduled to play New Zealand and Belgium in Los Angeles on June 15 and 21, followed by a match against Egypt in Seattle on June 26. The tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, runs from June 11 through July 19.
