“Not all Kutis use narcotics” — Afrobeat singer Made Kuti addresses family misconception Afrobeat singer, Made Kuti, has dismissed the misconception that all members of the Kuti family use narcotics.  Speaking with TheCable on the sidelines of the United States mission’s 250th Independence Day celebration in Lagos, the singer said many people wrongly assume he and his relatives use drugs. “A lot of people think I smoke, but I don’t, and even my dad has quit. So, there is a big misconception that the family are all into narcotics, but most of us are not,” he said. When asked to describe himself in three words, Made chose “hardworking, loyal and passionate,” adding with a joke that “loyal” fits because “I’m a married man”. When asked which Nigerian artiste he currently listens to, Made named his grandfather.

Jelly Roll refutes claims wife Bunnie Xo is a 'gold digger': 'When I met her, I was homeless'

Jelly Roll recently joked that if anyone is a “gold digger” in his marriage, it’s him. Reflecting on their early days together, he recalled being homeless and living out of a van when he met Bunnie Xo, making the label ironic.

Married since 2016, the couple has weathered ups and downs, including Jelly Roll’s ATV accident earlier this year that left him hospitalized with a broken collarbone, an ordeal that deeply worried his wife.

Their relationship has also faced challenges from Jelly Roll’s past infidelity, which Bunnie Xo candidly addressed in her memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic.

She described the emotional toll of discovering his affair, recounting moments of depression and even suicidal thoughts before ultimately deciding to leave Nashville for Las Vegas.

What hurt her most, she explained, was not just the physical betrayal but the emotional investment Jelly Roll gave to another woman, including providing her with a house.

Despite the pain, Bunnie chose forgiveness, though she admits it took years to rebuild trust and feel secure in their marriage.

Jelly Roll has since acknowledged the affair as one of the darkest points in his adulthood, but he emphasizes that the healing process has brought them closer.

Today, both speak openly about their struggles, framing their journey as one of resilience and growth, with their bond stronger than ever.
