 Former Kennedy Center employees allege leadership delayed roof repairs before citing safety issues in closure decision Former Kennedy Center employees allege that the venue’s leadership knew about serious structural problems well before citing newly discovered hazards as the reason for its abrupt closure this month. The claims were outlined in a letter to Congress from a lawyer representing anonymous whistleblowers. The letter accuses the center’s executive director and chief operating officer, Matt Floca, of failing to prioritize roof repairs and stopping a funded repair plan in April. Floca disputes the allegations, saying recent inspections revealed that water damage had spread farther into the building than officials previously knew. In a September court declaration, Floca cited “acute risks to public safety” following an inspection that found deterioration in a roof terrace canopy and a partial ceiling collapse.  Kaduna Highway Crash Claims Life Of Army Officer


A senior military officer has died following a road accident along the Abuja–Kaduna highway.


The incident was revealed in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.


According to the report, the crash occurred on March 28 at Azara village, near Jere in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.


The accident reportedly involved a commercial Sharon bus and a BUA Cement truck.


The officer, identified as Major A.M. Abubakar, was said to be a passenger in the commercial vehicle at the time. 


He was also a student at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC).


Sources indicated that the officer died instantly, while other passengers sustained minor injuries.


His remains were later taken to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, where his personal belongings were handed over to his family upon their arrival.
