 OPERATION ENDURING PEACE INTENSIFIES SECURITY MEASURES TO CURB ESCALATION OF TENSIONS WITHIN JOS METROPOLIS In a proactive move to prevent further escalation of the ongoing crisis in Jos North, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, initiated a comprehensive stop-and-search exercise across the Jos metropolis on Friday. This strategic intervention is part of a broader mandate to restore absolute normalcy and ensure the safety of lives and property within the State. ​The heightened security presence yielded immediate results as troops successfully intercepted and arrested 2 suspects as well as recovered one fabricated AK-47 rifle along with four rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and one pump action with a cutlass.  Kaduna North Senator Resigns From PDP


Senator Ibrahim Khalid Mustapha, who represents Kaduna North in the National Assembly, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


In a letter dated March 27, 2026, addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Soba Ward, Mustapha cited ongoing leadership disputes and court cases within the party as his reason for leaving. 


He said the internal conflicts made it difficult to remain an active member.


“The internal crisis, unending court cases, and leadership disagreements have made it increasingly difficult for me to continue my membership and participation,” the senator stated.


He thanked party members for their support over the years. 


Reports suggest he may join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) next.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
