Barack Obama 'confident' America will have a female president 'sometime soon': 'It’ll become normalized' Barack Obama recently expressed optimism about America’s political future, saying he believes the country will elect a female president “sometime soon.”  In an interview with People, the former president explained that just as his own election in 2008 helped normalize the idea of a Black president, he expects that a woman in the Oval Office will eventually be seen as unremarkable.  He noted that once the milestone is reached, public focus will shift to everyday issues like gas prices and policy outcomes rather than the novelty of gender. Obama’s comments highlight the progress women have made in politics, from governorships to Senate seats, while acknowledging that the presidency remains elusive. The 2024 election cycle saw several female candidates rise to prominence, but none secured the nation’s highest office.  Analysts point to factors such as campaign ...

King Charles Jokes About ‘Disaster’ After Knocking Down Plaque During Visit to Solar Panel Company

King Charles has called for a quicker move toward clean energy during a visit to Oxford Photovoltaics, the company behind advanced solar panel technology designed to capture more of the sun’s light and turn it into affordable power.

During the visit, the King met the scientists and innovators leading the work and praised their efforts in pushing renewable technology forward.

“I hope you can speed up the transition a bit,” he said, according to the BBC, referring to the move away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy sources.

He went on to commend the team for their persistence and progress.

“I think you’re remarkable, how you’ve managed to keep it all going, but it does take time to get to the point where you can actually commercialize all these things,” he said.

The monarch also stressed the urgency of the work being done.

“We need it all badly, all your products,” he added. “Fantastic, applicable on one or two roofs.”

The visit gave the King a closer look at how the technology works. He was shown electron microscope images of perovskite, a material used alongside silicon to improve solar panel efficiency by absorbing different parts of the light spectrum.

The material is seen as a major step in making solar power more effective and accessible.

In a light moment during the visit, King Charles was presented with a custom-made solar panel cell as a keepsake.

“Will it actually do anything?” he joked as he accepted the gift, before warmly thanking the team.

“Well done. Thank you very much.”

The outing came just three days after another memorable royal moment involving the King and Queen Camilla.

During a visit to the Eden Project to mark the sustainable charity’s 25th anniversary, the couple shared a light-hearted exchange at a festive Big Lunch event.

As seen in a video shared by Hello! magazine on Instagram, the King was speaking with attendees when Queen Camilla, 78, tried to get his attention to show him something, adding yet another warm moment to the royal couple’s recent public appearances.
