 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Lawyer dies after being trapped in Abuja hotel lift


 lawyer, Barrister Abdulsalami Ginsau, has reportedly d!ed after being trapped inside an elevator at a hotel in Abuja.


An eyewitness account said the incident occurred on Monday, March 30, 2026. 


The report indicated that the deceased was stuck in the lift for a prolonged period, leading to his d3ath, suspected to be from suffocation.


However, the exact cause of the incident has not been officially confirmed.


It’s is unclear whether it was due to a power outage or a mechanical fault in the elevator.


Authorities and the management of the hotel involved have issued an official statement at the time of filing this report.


The identity of the hotel has also not been disclosed. 


Meanwhile friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn him.
