Lucy DeVito turned her latest project, Drag, into a true family collaboration. The 43‑year‑old actress, daughter of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, not only stars in the film but also produced it alongside her father and brother, Jake.
At the movie’s premiere during the SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin, she shared how her family rallied behind her, calling the production “a family affair” with support from her mom, sister, husband, and extended circle.
The film, which mixes comedy, horror, and suspense, also gave Lucy the chance to form a close bond with her co‑star Lizzy Caplan, who plays her onscreen sister.
Lucy explained that their connection felt natural, as they related to each other’s experiences as mothers and shared stories about raising kids while balancing life between Los Angeles and New York.
Lucy welcomed her son Carmine in 2024, while Caplan has a son, Alfie, born in 2021 with husband Tom Riley.
According to the SXSW synopsis, Drag follows two sisters whose plan to rob a rural home spirals into chaos when one of them becomes immobilized during the heist.
The night quickly turns into a nightmare as they struggle to escape before the homeowner returns.
With John Stamos and Christine Ko also in the cast, the film promises a wild ride, though it has yet to receive an official release date.
