 NAFDAC Alerts Public to Suspected Counterfeit Forxiga Medicines in Circulation The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted the public to the circulation of suspected counterfeit medicinal products mimicking Forxiga (dapagliflozin) in the Nigerian market, warning that their use could pose serious health risks. The agency said the suspected counterfeit products were detected following market surveillance by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. The disclosure was contained in Public Alert No. 036/2026 posted on NAFDAC’s X handle on Thursday. According to the notice, AstraZeneca notified the agency after identifying products bearing names closely resembling Forxiga® and imitating the company’s brand identity and logo.  Meghan Markle’s dad finds love with nurse 35 years younger


Thomas Markle, Meghan Markle’s estranged father, has found companionship again after meeting nurse Rio Canedo, 35 years his junior, while recovering from surgery in the Philippines. 


At 81, Markle says he is “overjoyed” with the relationship, describing Rio as a source of peace and happiness after years of health struggles and personal turmoil. 


Despite criticism, he insists he is focused on living fully, declaring, “haters will hate.”


Markle’s health challenges have been significant in recent years, including a leg amputation, a stroke, and multiple hospitalizations. 


His move to the Philippines earlier this year was partly to seek privacy and escape reminders of his fractured relationship with Meghan, who has been estranged from him since her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. 


While he has never met Harry or his grandchildren, Markle remains close to his other children, with his son Thomas Jr. now acting as his caregiver.


The father-daughter relationship once appeared strong, as Meghan lived with him during her teenage years and described him as hardworking and inspiring. 


However, their bond broke down after Markle staged paparazzi photos ahead of her wedding, an incident that led to mistrust and a heated phone call with Harry. 


Since then, Markle has maintained ties with his other family members while carving out a quieter life abroad, insisting that despite past mistakes, he has found happiness again in his new relationship.
