No Fewer Than 12 States Have Enacted the Tax Reforms Law – Minister Designate Taiwo Oyedele

No fewer than 12 states in Nigeria have enacted the Tax Harmonisation Law, a key component of the Federal Government's tax reform initiatives, according to Dr. Taiwo Oyedele, the newly appointed Minister of State for Finance (designate).

Oyedele made the disclosure during a graduation ceremony for the MTN Foundation's Young Innovators and Entrepreneurs Training Initiative held at the Continental Hotel in Abuja. He noted that an additional 13 states have already tabled the law before their State Houses of Assembly for consideration, while others are at various stages of implementation.

He highlighted the overarching goals of President Tinubu’s tax reforms: modernizing Nigeria's fiscal framework to enable businesses to thrive, protect vulnerable populations, and drive economic transformation.

Oyedele also commended the MTN Foundation for its role in promoting entrepreneurship, noting that the program has trained over 15,000 young people and plans to disburse about ₦300 million in business grants to support job creation and innovation.
