 One thing I’ve noticed since I came to Nigeria… some of the people we call “rich” in Cameroon might actually be considered poor here in Nigeria. πŸ˜‚πŸ‡¨πŸ‡²πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ You will hear some Cameroonians say: Life in Cameroon is better because the gap between the rich and poor is not too much. An average man lives better than an average man in Nigeria  But I think the problem is that we sometimes measure wealth differently. πŸ˜‚ Those rich people in Cameroon are more like the average man in Nigeria  In Nigeria, you can see somebody with a house, two cars and serious money, yet the person will still say: Me? I’m just managing. πŸ˜­πŸ˜‚ Meanwhile, that same person might be considered very rich in Cameroon. I’ve actually met guys in Nigeria who consider themselves average or even poor, and I’m looking at them like: Oga, if you enter Cameroon with this your ‘poor’ lifestyle, they will give you a title! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Some people we call rich back home would probably be considered ordinary here.  NSCDC LAGOS CONTINUES STAKEHOLDERS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN APAPA, MILE 2, AJEROMI, AGUDA DIVISIONS.


Stakeholders rallies Apapa and Ifelodun LGAs to support the NSCDC Divisions with operational vehicles for effective Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection ( CNAI - P ) ...


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Area E Command organized its community engagement on Critical National Assets and Infrastructure  Protection ( CNAI - P ) with stakeholders drawn from Apapa, Mile 2, Ajeromi and Aguda today, Friday, 27th March, 2026 at the Apapa LGA hall.


The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command Mr Adedotun Keshinro affirmed that the community engagement held today, Friday by the Divisions under the  Area E Command couldn't have come at a better time other than now.


The Lagos State Commandant who was ably represented at the event, by the State Command's Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin while delivering his speech commended the stakeholders in the communities for joining forces with the Corps to eliminate the saboteurs of our commonwealth head on. 


He further charged the Scrap Dealers and Employers Association operating within the aforementioned  Divisions under the Area  E Command to remain compliant with government regulations regarding all their activities .


He warned the general members of the public to desist from vandalism, which is capable of jeopardizing  the integrity of the state's infrastructure and the economy as culprits will be made to face the full wrath of the law.


The Executive Chairmen of Apapa Local Government Area, Honourable Adejumoke Idowu Senbajo was ably represented by the Council Manager, Mrs Adebanji Oluwatoyin. While delivering the speech of the Executive Chairman she commended the coordinated efforts of the NSCDC, Lagos State Command towards ensuring infrastructure integrity in the state. She further said that it will take continuous collective organized efforts such as this to truly safeguard and secure our roads, telecommunications cables , manholes, electrical cables , power installations , rail tracks, fibre optic cables and other public and private utilities .


The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun LGA, Hon., Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo ably represented by his Chief Security Officer, also avowed the commitment of his Honorable Chairman towards the provision of operational vehicles to boost the operational performance and capacity of the NSCDC and other security agencies in his LGA


He also called on members of the public to continue to support the Command so that it will continue to deliver on its mandate as they can not do it alone .


The Nigerian Navy was represented by Lt Commander AJ Omosola from NNS Beecroft. He avowed the Navy's support towards ensuring s collective coordinated policing of the critical national assets and  infrastructure protection in the state .He charged the command to ensure that it's coordinated efforts on synergy, intelligence gathering and surveillance remain enhanced .


The representative of the National Orientation Agency while giving his contributions at the meeting called for the support of the Corps in reducing vandalism of assets to the lowest minimum. He commended the command also for its efforts towards ensuring a state wide sensitization of the people at the grassroots as he can attest to this fact.


The Chairman Scrap Dealer Association of Apapa ably represented by the association's spokesperson made it known that all measures are being put in place by their executives to ensure compliance with government rules and extant laws guiding their operations.


The Area Commander, Area E Command, Assistant Commandant of Corps Adamu Nana and the Divisional Officers under him reiterated their resolve to fight vandalism head on and bring culprits to book in their Area of Responsibilities ( AoRs ).


The event drew goodwill messages from the representatives of the Executive  Chairmen of the aforementioned LGAs, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police Force, Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps , Market Union Leaders, National Orientation Agency, Community Development Associations and Committees, et ce tera.
