 New Ebola outbreak confirmed in Congo’s Ituri province, with 246 suspected cases and 65 deaths reported, as Uganda records imported fatal case   A new Ebola outbreak has been confirmed in Congo’s remote Ituri province, with 246 suspected cases and 65 deaths reported so far, according to Africa’s top public health agency. Health officials said most cases have been concentrated in the Mongwalu and Rwampara health zones, with additional suspected infections reported in Bunia, near the border with Uganda. Preliminary laboratory testing detected the virus in 13 of 20 samples, though authorities said further sequencing is underway to determine the exact strain, which may differ from the Ebola Zaire variant seen in previous outbreaks. Uganda also reported a separate fatal Ebola case involving a Congolese man who had recently traveled from the outbreak area.  POLICE ARREST 14 MORE  SUSPECTS OVER ATTACK ON OFFICERS IN ERIN-OSUN, ILOBU


The Osun State Police Command has arrested 14 additional suspects in connection with the recent attack on police officers in Erin-Osun and Ilobu communities, as investigations into the incident intensify.


An update issued by the Command's spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi,  disclosed that the 14  suspects were apprehended through intelligence-led operations, bringing the total number of arrests to 18.


According to the statement, the suspects had gone into hiding after the attack but were tracked and arrested by operatives under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan.


The Command also confirmed the recovery of weapons linked to the incident, including a single-barrel gun, a live cartridge, and a cutlass.


Police authorities assured that all suspects will be prosecuted in accordance with the law, stressing their commitment to upholding human rights while ensuring justice is served.
