  BANDITS STRIKE CHURCH IN KWARA: WORSHIPPERS ABDUCTED IN SHOCKING ATTACK Chaos erupted in Omugo community, Ifelodun LGA, Kwara State, as armed bandits stormed an ECWA Church during Sunday morning service, abducting worshippers and sending the congregation fleeing in terror. Sources report that at least seven people were kidnapped before security forces could intervene. In a swift and coordinated response, joint security operatives, including forest guards and local vigilantes, rescued three victims, though several remain in captivity. Bolanle Olukoju, Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, condemned the brazen attack, describing it as “cowardly and unacceptable,” and praised the rapid action of security agencies.  POLICE ARREST NYSC OFFICIAL OVER DEATH OF FEMALE CORPER MEMBER IN OGUN STATE 

Tragedy struck in Abeokuta South Local Government Area last Tuesday as 22-year-old NYSC corps member, Victoria Ariyo, reportedly died from complications following an abortion procedure. Her remains were laid to rest at Kobape Cemetery along the Kobape-Sagamu Road, sparking grief among colleagues and community members.


Victoria Ariyo had been serving her mandatory National Youth Service in Abeokuta South LGA. Details of the circumstances surrounding the procedure remain under investigation.


The Ogun State Police Command has launched an official probe into the incident. An NYSC official, Abass Olalekan, was arrested in connection with the case as authorities seek to determine potential negligence or misconduct.


A police spokesperson said, “We are investigating the circumstances of the corps member’s death and will ensure justice is served.” Meanwhile, friends and colleagues described Victoria as “dedicated and cheerful,” mourning her untimely death.
