 NPF STRENGTHENS POLICE COMPLAINTS RESPONSE UNIT, ENCOURAGES PUBLIC REPORTING OF MISCONDUCT The Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, professionalism, and public trust through the continued strengthening of the Police Complaints Response Unit (CRU) as a direct and accessible channel for citizens to report police misconduct and unprofessional conduct. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, made this known during the Emergency Conference with Commissioners of Police and members of the press held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja.  According to the Inspector-General, the Complaints Response Unit remains fully operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing members of the public with a direct platform to report cases of misconduct, abuse of office, extortion, human rights violations, and other unethical behaviour involving police personnel.  Scorned lover stabs his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend


A 26- year-old Malawi national was stabbed by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend in South Africa.


The incident happened at his residence in an informal settlement in Redcliffe, Verulam - KZN on Tuesday morning.


Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at 12:27. 


On arrival, Reaction Officers interviewed the injured male and his girlfriend.


According to the female, her 26-year old ex-boyfriend allegedly kicked open the door to the home and confronted her current partner at approximately 01:00.


During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim two times before fleeing. 


The injured male thereafter fled from the house and concealed himself in nearby bushes for several hours out of fear for his safety.


She stated that she searched for her boyfriend during the night but was unable to locate him. 


Upon returning to the residence this morning, she found that he had made his way back after hiding in nearby bushes.


The female further explained that she had previously been involved with both men simultaneously before ending her relationship with the suspect and choosing to continue the relationship with the victim. 


It is alleged that the suspect had been unable to accept the separation and had on several occasions threatened and assaulted the couple prior to the incident.


The injured male was treated on scene before being transported privately to a medical facility.
