 Kenyan lawyers boycott courts over alleged judicial corruption Kenyan lawyers staged a nationwide boycott of court proceedings on Wednesday to protest alleged judicial corruption and chronic delays. Cases in the East African nation take an average of two years to conclude, according to official records, with lawyers blaming graft and systemic inefficiencies. "The court boycott is going on in courts across the country, with many lawyers heeding the call," Charles Kanjama, the president of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), told reporters. However, the judiciary said that accountability mechanisms already exist through the Judicial Service Commission and the Office of the Judiciary Ombudsman, where complaints against judges and judicial officers can be lodged and investigated, according to a statement released prior to the boycott. Star Trek icon William Shatner turns 95


William Shatner, the legendary actor best known for his iconic role in Star Trek, is celebrating his 95th birthday on Sunday.

Sharing a celebratory message on X, Shatner wrote, “At 95, I'm still smokin’! I’ve learned two things: Never waste a good cigar. Never trust anyone who says you should ‘act your age.’” The post included photos of him outdoors, looking fit and happy while enjoying a cigar.

Beyond Star Trek, Shatner has appeared in shows and films including My Life Is Murder, TJ Hooker, Boston Legal, and Miss Congeniality. In 2021, he made headlines by taking a sub-orbital space flight with Blue Origin, further cementing his reputation as a bold and adventurous figure both on and off screen.
