Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive.  TARABA SENATOR JIMKUTA SPLITS ₦500M DONATION AMONG MUSLIM, CATHOLIC & PROTESTANT BODIES 


A Senator representing Taraba State, Sen. Jimkuta, has donated a total of ₦500 million to support religious activities among Muslim and Christian groups across the state, providing financial assistance for Ramadan programmes, church conferences, and the redevelopment of a burnt cathedral.


The donation is aimed at strengthening faith-based activities and supporting major religious gatherings that attract thousands of worshippers annually in the state.


Out of the total amount, ₦100 million was allocated to the Muslim Ummah to support activities during the ongoing Ramadan fasting period.

Another ₦100 million was donated to the RCCN Zion Conference to assist with preparations and organisation of its annual conference.


The lawmaker also approved ₦200 million for the CRCN Bethel Conference, one of the major gatherings within the Christian Reformed Church community.


In addition, ₦100 million was provided to St. Mary’s Catholic Church to support church programmes and aid the redevelopment of its cathedral, which was previously destroyed by fire.


According to sources close to the initiative, the senator’s gesture is intended to promote unity, support religious worship, and encourage peaceful coexistence among different faith communities in Taraba State.
