 Set designer Mary Kate Golding found dead in Queens home as police investigate possible murder-suicide Police are investigating the deaths of television set designer Mary Kate Golding and her husband after the 34-year-old was found fatally stabbed inside her Queens home. According to the New York Police Department, officers responded shortly after midnight on Tuesday, July 21, to a residence in Astoria, where they found Golding with a fatal stab wound to her back. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Several hours later, at about 6:39 a.m., officers responded to a separate 911 call reporting an unconscious person near Astoria Park South and Shore Boulevard. Police found an unresponsive man in the park, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. An NYPD source identified the man as Joseph Azzaretto, Golding's husband.  TRANSITION OF LEADERSHIP: MURITALA HANDS OVER TO NEW ACCOUNTANT GENERAL AT STATE TREASURY OFFICE


A smooth transition of leadership took place at the Office of the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Abayomi Oluyomi, as the retiring Accountant-General/Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office, Dr Abiodun Shefiu Muritala, formally handed over to the newly appointed Accountant-General/Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office, Dr. Muyiwa John Adetola.


The brief, but significant ceremony, marked the continuity of a legacy of professionalism, accountability, and prudent financial management in the State’s Public Service. 


Dr. Muritala was commended for his dedication, integrity, and contributions to strengthening the financial architecture of the State during his tenure.


In his remarks, Dr. Adetola expressed appreciation for the solid foundation laid by his predecessor and also reaffirmed his commitment to upholding transparency, fiscal discipline, accountability and prudency in the management of the State Treasury.


The STO wishes the retiring Accountant-General success in his future endeavours and the new Accountant-General a productive and impactful tenure in his service to the State.
