 LAGOS CELEBRATES SOPHIA EKERUCHE: WORLD’S BEST YOUTH FEMALE SCRABBLE PLAYER The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) hosted Wizkid Scrabble player Sophia Ekeruche of Team Lagos, the 15-year-old crowned the world's best female Scrabble player at the just-concluded World Youth Scrabble Championship held in Kenya this past August. Hon. Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, received the young champion in his office at Teslim Balogun Stadium.  TRANSITION OF LEADERSHIP: MURITALA HANDS OVER TO NEW ACCOUNTANT GENERAL AT STATE TREASURY OFFICE


A smooth transition of leadership took place at the Office of the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Abayomi Oluyomi, as the retiring Accountant-General/Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office, Dr Abiodun Shefiu Muritala, formally handed over to the newly appointed Accountant-General/Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office, Dr. Muyiwa John Adetola.


The brief, but significant ceremony, marked the continuity of a legacy of professionalism, accountability, and prudent financial management in the State’s Public Service. 


Dr. Muritala was commended for his dedication, integrity, and contributions to strengthening the financial architecture of the State during his tenure.


In his remarks, Dr. Adetola expressed appreciation for the solid foundation laid by his predecessor and also reaffirmed his commitment to upholding transparency, fiscal discipline, accountability and prudency in the management of the State Treasury.


The STO wishes the retiring Accountant-General success in his future endeavours and the new Accountant-General a productive and impactful tenure in his service to the State.
