Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive. Reality television personality Kendra Wilkinson is choosing confidence and peace over online criticism.

The 40 year old shared a candid selfie on Instagram while marking International Women’s Day, using the moment to speak openly about comments she has received about her appearance and aging.

Wilkinson acknowledged that some social media users have said she has aged “poorly,” but she made it clear that the remarks have not shaken her sense of self.

“I’m ok with aging ‘poorly,’” she wrote with humor. “For some reason I’m happier than I’ve ever been lately, even with a little weight gain and wrinkles. I’m not tying my happiness to negative energy anymore.”

Her message carried a tone of self acceptance, as she described the life she now enjoys away from the intense spotlight that once defined her early adult years.

“I’m a balanced, single, positive, fun woman who loves life,” she wrote. “I hope I can keep this feeling forever after working so hard to get to this place.”

Wilkinson reflected on the journey that began when she was still a teenager stepping into reality television fame. She explained that much of her early adulthood revolved around trying to meet other people’s expectations.

“I was verrrry young when I started TV,” she wrote. “I spent about twenty chaotic years trying to impress others. Now it’s about me, giving back to myself, even if that means less money and way less fame.”

Her rise to public attention began through the hit reality series The Girls Next Door, which followed the lives of women living at the Playboy Mansion alongside the late founder Hugh Hefner. Wilkinson lived there with fellow personalities Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison.

She had moved into the mansion at just 18, a decision that launched a long stretch in reality television. Later, she starred in her own shows including Kendra and Kendra on Top.

Today, Wilkinson says her priorities look very different. She introduced herself again to followers as a real estate professional and, most importantly, a mother.

Her greatest joy, she explained, comes from watching her children grow. Wilkinson shares her son Hank Randall IV, 16, and daughter Alijah Mary, 11, with her former husband Hank Baskett.

“Watching them grow has been my ultimate happiness over everything else,” she wrote.

Her message drew encouragement from followers and friends, including former Playboy model Crystal Harris, who left a supportive comment celebrating personal growth and new beginnings.

Other users echoed the sentiment, noting that aging itself is a privilege and encouraging people to embrace each stage of life rather than resist it.

Wilkinson ended her post with gratitude, celebrating both the day and the stage of life she now finds herself in.
