 OPERATION ENDURING PEACE INTENSIFIES SECURITY MEASURES TO CURB ESCALATION OF TENSIONS WITHIN JOS METROPOLIS In a proactive move to prevent further escalation of the ongoing crisis in Jos North, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, initiated a comprehensive stop-and-search exercise across the Jos metropolis on Friday. This strategic intervention is part of a broader mandate to restore absolute normalcy and ensure the safety of lives and property within the State. ​The heightened security presence yielded immediate results as troops successfully intercepted and arrested 2 suspects as well as recovered one fabricated AK-47 rifle along with four rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and one pump action with a cutlass.  ADC TO PROCEED WITH SCHEDULED CONGRESSES DESPITE INEC ACTIONS


The African Democratic Congress ADC says it will proceed with its scheduled congresses nationwide,despite recent action of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.


ADC states that it had duly notified INEC of its planned activities through official correspondence dated 27th February 2026 and 28th March 2026.


The party reaffirms its commitment to due process and internal democracy, emphasizing that all arrangements for the congresses remain in place.


ADC calls on all party members, stakeholders, and aspirants across the country to remain calm, law-abiding, and fully participate in the process as scheduled.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
