 China reportedly preparing air defense shipment to Iran amid escalating Middle East tensions

China is reportedly preparing to send air defense systems to Iran in the coming weeks, following more than a month of U.S. and Israeli strikes targeting Iranian military and missile infrastructure. The planned shipment, which has not been publicly confirmed by Beijing, is said to involve man-portable air defense systems, or shoulder-fired missiles designed to defend against low-flying aircraft. Some assessments suggest the equipment could be routed through third countries in an effort to obscure its origin.

When asked about the reports, President Trump warned that China would face consequences if it proceeds with the transfer, though he did not say whether he has recently spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Chinese officials have denied providing weapons to any party involved in the conflict, urging restraint in public accusations and calling for efforts aimed at de-escalation.
