The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday.  Christie Brinkley shares health update on ex Billy Joel after 'scary' brain disorder

Christie Brinkley has given a positive update on her ex-husband Billy Joel, nearly a year after he revealed his diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a rare brain disorder caused by fluid buildup in the skull.

Brinkley told Hello! Magazine that Joel is “doing very well,” crediting the support of his family, including their daughter Alexa, as well as his wife Alexis Roderick and their two young daughters.

The condition, which affects balance, vision, and cognition, forced Joel to cancel tour dates in 2025, but he has since focused on recovery.

Joel’s daughter Alexa has also spoken about his progress, sharing that he has been committed to physical therapy, dieting, and staying proactive about his health.

She praised his resilience, calling him a “fighter” who has always approached life with determination.

Alexa even honored her father at Carnegie Hall’s tribute concert, performing “This Night” in his presence, a moment Brinkley described as “wonderful” despite missing the event herself.

Joel reassured fans last year that while the diagnosis was frightening, he was not “deathly ill” and remained optimistic about his recovery.

In January, Joel surprised fans by returning to the stage for the first time since announcing his condition, performing at the 30th anniversary celebration of Wellington, Florida.

Using a cane for support, he played hits like “We Didn’t Start the Fire” and “Big Shot,” joined by his wife and daughters.

His appearance underscored his determination to keep performing despite health challenges, showing that with family support and perseverance, he continues to embrace both recovery and music.
