 OPERATION ENDURING PEACE INTENSIFIES SECURITY MEASURES TO CURB ESCALATION OF TENSIONS WITHIN JOS METROPOLIS In a proactive move to prevent further escalation of the ongoing crisis in Jos North, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, initiated a comprehensive stop-and-search exercise across the Jos metropolis on Friday. This strategic intervention is part of a broader mandate to restore absolute normalcy and ensure the safety of lives and property within the State. ​The heightened security presence yielded immediate results as troops successfully intercepted and arrested 2 suspects as well as recovered one fabricated AK-47 rifle along with four rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and one pump action with a cutlass.  COAS  DEPLOYS MORE  TROOPS TO PLATEAU TO CURB RISING TENSION


In a swift and decisive move to contain the escalating security situation in parts of Plateau State, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, NAM, has approved the immediate deployment of additional troops to strengthen ongoing operations under Operation ENDURING PEACE.


The reinforcement is aimed at supporting troops already on ground in de-escalating tensions and restoring law and order across affected areas of the state.


While addressing troops at the Headquarters Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE in Jos, the COAS charged them to remain professional, disciplined and firm in dealing with criminal elements threatening the peace and security of law-abiding citizens. He assured the personnel that adequate logistics and combat enablers have been provided to ensure the effective execution of their mission.


The newly deployed troops, numbering over 850, were drawn from formations in Abuja and Kaduna. The troops have been tasked with the protection of lives and property, as well as ensuring the safety and security of residents across the state.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
