 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways.  Country singer and former The Voice contestant Dylan Carter dies at 24 in South Carolina car crash

Country singer and former The Voice contestant Dylan Carter has died at the age of 24 following a car accident in Colleton County, South Carolina, on April 25. His death was confirmed by a nonprofit organization he co-founded, which supports women battling cancer, though officials have not released further details about the crash.

Carter, described as a “proud Lowcountry native,” was known both for his music career and community involvement. He co-founded the organization behind the announcement and was also a business owner and realtor, operating Sunny Days RV & Campground. The group said he was deeply committed to the idea that every voice matters, adding that he brought people together through his kindness, music, and personality.

In 2023, Carter appeared on Season 24 of The Voice, where he gained attention after performing Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You” during his audition. He selected Reba McEntire as his coach, saying the performance was dedicated to his late mother, who had died the previous year.

Carter had been scheduled to perform a concert in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, on April 27. Following news of his death, local officials and community members shared tributes, remembering him as a talented performer who regularly entertained at town events and was widely respected for his warmth and character.
