Country singer and former The Voice contestant Dylan Carter has died at the age of 24 following a car accident in Colleton County, South Carolina, on April 25. His death was confirmed by a nonprofit organization he co-founded, which supports women battling cancer, though officials have not released further details about the crash.

Carter, described as a “proud Lowcountry native,” was known both for his music career and community involvement. He co-founded the organization behind the announcement and was also a business owner and realtor, operating Sunny Days RV & Campground. In 2023, Carter appeared on Season 24 of The Voice, where he gained attention after performing Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You” during his audition. He selected Reba McEntire as his coach, saying the performance was dedicated to his late mother, who had died the previous year.

Following news of his death, local officials and community members shared tributes, remembering him as a talented performer who regularly entertained at town events and was widely respected for his warmth and character.
