 Alleged $1.5m Fraud:   Witness Tells Court Funds Came into Defendant’s Account in Multiple Tranches The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, June 29, 2026, presented its third prosecution witness (PW3), Levi Amanda Opice, a Compliance Officer with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), in the ongoing trial of Ifoma Immanuel before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, over an alleged $1.5 million fraud. Immanuel is standing trial alongside his company, Intermediate Investment Holdings Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and forgery involving the sum of $1.5 million. CP MONDAY AGBONIKA VISITS PTS OGIDA, COMMENDS ORDERLY CONDUCT OF RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION


The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, today paid an inspection visit to the Police Training School (PTS), Ogida, Benin City, venue of the ongoing Nigeria Police Force recruitment examination exercise.


During the visit, the Commissioner of Police interacted with applicants participating in the examination and encouraged them to give their best, reminding them that the recruitment process is entirely free, transparent, and merit-based. He emphasized that the exercise is designed to be fair and just, offering every qualified applicant an equal opportunity to serve the nation through the Nigeria Police Force.


CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, also commended the officers of the Nigeria Police Force and personnel of the Police Service Commission for the high level of organization, professionalism, and orderliness observed throughout the exercise. He expressed satisfaction with the seamless coordination and conduct of the examination process.


The Commissioner further assessed the security arrangements and deployments put in place ahead of the exercise, which commenced on Monday, 28th April, 2026. He expressed confidence in the adequacy of the security measures, noting that they have been effective in ensuring a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free environment for all participants and officials.


While on ground, the Commissioner was received by key officials overseeing the exercise, including the Nigeria Police Force Recruitment Team Leader, DCP John Paul Echetah; the Police Service Commission Team Leader, Barrister Joel Akoko; the Commandant, Police Training School, Ogida, ACP Aigbe Aghahowa; the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Medical, ACP Margaret Oyakhiere; the Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department, ACP Nasirudeen Oyedele; and the Police Service Commission Secretary, Mr. Donald Aohiojie, among other senior officers and officials.


The Edo State Police Command remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the standards of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+), NPM, and the Chairman Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu Rtd for professionalism, transparency, and excellence, ensuring that only the most qualified and suitable candidates are selected into the Nigeria Police Force.
