GOVERNMENT OF RIVERS STATE   PRESS STATEMENT  MY DECISION TO WITHDRAW FROM THE RIVERS  STATE  GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARIES  Fellow Rivers People, After deep reflection and extensive consultations with my family, friends, and associates, I have taken the difficult but necessary decision to withdraw from the APC gubernatorial primaries. I do so with a full heart and with a firm commitment to support whoever emerges as the candidate of our great party. Leadership is ultimately about sacrifice. There comes a time when personal ambition must yield to the greater good of the people. Rivers State is bigger than any individual, and at this critical moment, the peace, stability, and unity of our dear state must take precedence over every personal interest.  Abiodun Distributes 40 SUVs to Ogun Monarchs, Charges Communities to Support Investors

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday distributed 40 brand-new SUVs to traditional rulers across the state as part of efforts to strengthen their mobility and support their role in maintaining peace and stability in their domains.

The presentation took place during the statutory meeting of the Ogun State Council of Obas held at the Obas’ Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. Governor Abiodun described the traditional rulers as custodians of culture and tradition and a critical link between government and the people, commending them for their continued support in sustaining the peaceful atmosphere that has enabled development to thrive in the state.

The governor also used the occasion to call on monarchs to work closely with their communities in creating a conducive and investor-friendly environment, warning against hostility toward investors. He expressed concern over reports of uncooperative attitudes in some areas, particularly in Yewa South, Ipokia, and Ijebu North, stressing that investments are essential for job creation, infrastructure growth, and improved livelihoods.

Governor Abiodun further urged heightened vigilance in the face of rising insecurity across parts of the country, calling on residents and traditional institutions to promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies. He also cautioned against indiscriminate land allocation and warned landlords against renting properties to criminals, stating that any building used for unlawful purposes would be demolished.

In their separate remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hazmat, and the Chairman of the Council of Obas and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, commended the governor for his developmental strides and reaffirmed the commitment of traditional institutions to supporting policies that promote peace, stability, and economic growth in Ogun State.
